Job Overview
We are looking to recruit a Technical Sales Specialist for a Gauteng based Labware specialist company, a candidate who has a solid background and success in sales in labware is essential.
Min Required Qualification.
- BSc, BTech or similar qualification in Chemistry or related fields – preference given to applicants with knowledge of Precious Metals (chemistry)
- Three to five years’ experience in technical sales
- Understanding of: Accounting, Marketing and Sales Management, Business Management and Economics is advantageous
- Intermediate to advanced MS Office competency, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience with CRM system(s) advantageous
- Experience with SAP advantageous
- Able and willing to travel frequently, both locally and internationally, as required
- Able to work under pressure in demanding environment
- Self-motivated, goal oriented, team player and Customer relationship management skills
- Able and willing to perform physical work related to catalyst exchanges
- Strong prioritization, time management and organizational skills
- Able to create and deliver presentations to audiences on all levels
Major Responsibilities & Accountabilities
- Conduct regular customer visits to maintain Customer relations
- Document customer visits, calls, opportunities and other customer information in the CRM system
- Work together with Customer Service and other departments to ensure that the needs of customers are met as it relates to orders, complaints, quotations and/or any other relevant topic
- Provide technical advice, support and guidance to customers w.r.t. to relevant products and the refining thereof
- Provide physical support and guidance during the exchange – removal and installation – of Precious Metal Gauzes
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships by frequent calls and visits, as applicable
- Generate quotations for new and existing customers
- Review and ensure implementation of credit limits for new and existing customers together with Finance
- Control SAP entries and reconcile monthly invoicing against forecasts
- Check and authorize electronic workflows as relevant
- Regularly test customer satisfaction levels
- Report on customer satisfaction levels
- Ensure high levels of Customer satisfaction at all times
- Analyse market potential, identify leads and pursue identified opportunities, using relevant tools
- Track and achieve agreed upon Sales and other targets and provide status updates to Management
- Compile monthly Sales forecasts and annual Sales Budgets for allocated customers/markets
- Analyse sales figures and report on deviations from forecast and budget figures on monthly and annual basis, as required, including comments
- Compile reports and presentations as required by Management for monthly meetings, board meetings etc.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of products and services offered by Heraeus and the application thereof
- Maintain up to date knowledge of competitors in allocated markets
- Continuously pursue cost saving and improvement opportunities within the scope of daily function and relevant field of expertise
