Sales Manager – Printing & Publishing

Job Overview

We are looking for an outgoing, organised, goal orientated, financially driven sales manager to run an offshore sales team selling into the UK and Ireland from an office in Cape Town.

 

Along with the financial controller, we would like the sales manager to run the office autonomously, reporting to HQ in Belfast, ensuring KPI’s and targets are hit and budgets adhered to.

 

Sales experience, character and extra curricular activities such as sport are as important to the type of character we’re looking for as academic achievement. This person will be the main eyes and ears on the ground of the Managing Director in Belfast and will have regular contact and visits to support and help the business drive forward.

Responsibilities include but not limited to;

  • Running a team of 3/4 sales teams across two brands and eventually growing this team as the business grows
  • Ensuring all behaviors are met by their team and sales targets
  • Sticking to the sales strategy outlined and trained by HQ
  • Reporting to HQ with results and call sheets measuring performances of team members
  • Monthly evaluation of team members
  • Recruit/replace and retain members of staff for the team
  • Selling to larger clients themselves and maximizing revenues
  • Ensure the office runs smoothly with minimal HR issues requiring HQ intervention
  • Working with Financial controller to ensure credit is being issued correctly and on-boarding of account customers is carried out correctly when required
  • Work with the credit controller to ensure the business is paid promptly
  • Ensuring every member of staff represents themselves and the business with the most integrity and professional manner

REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree/Diploma/Certificate in Sales/Marketing or a similar relevant industry qualification and experience
  • At least 3 – 5 years relevant experience as a Sales Manager
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Work independently, possess high energy levels and manage own time and activities
  • Excellent presentation and negotiation skills
  • Strong business acumen • Excellent assertiveness skills
  • Taking initiative, efficiency orientation and adherence to standards
  • Team building and leadership skills to drive and motivate performance through effective coaching skills
  • Exceptional communicator with the ability to build relationships
  • Increase new business sales volumes, maintaining existing customer base as well
  • Maximizing cross-selling across the business Group
